Adriaen Hendriksz. Verboom
Paesaggista olandese italianizzante
Adriaen Hendriksz Verboom fu un pittore paesaggista del Secolo d'oro olandese. Nacque a Rotterdam ed era il fratello maggiore e insegnante di Willem Hendricksz Verboom. Lavorò a Haarlem dal 1650 e ad Amsterdam dal 1661 ed è noto per paesaggi italianeggianti nello stile di Jacob van Ruisdael. Sembra che abbia trascorso un lungo periodo ad Amsterdam, dove le sue opere apparvero negli inventari, e dopo la morte della moglie nel 1667 tornò a Rotterdam, dove in seguito morì. Era documentato come un buon disegnatore che dipingeva piastrelle e realizzava incisioni, oltre a dipinti. Il Rijksmuseum possiede diversi suoi disegni e incisioni. Il Museo Teylers ha un libro di incisioni di Johannes Groensveld basate sui disegni di Verboom.
