Rinsaku Akamatsu
Maître des estampes d'Osaka
Akamatsu Rinsaku était un peintre, illustrateur, caricaturiste et graveur à Osaka. Il est né en 1878 à Tsuyama City, dans la préfecture d'Okayama, au Japon. Il a étudié la peinture de style occidental à la célèbre Tokyo School of Fine Arts, l'un de ses professeurs étant Yamauchi Gusen. Le premier emploi d'Akamatsu Rinsaku était celui d'illustrateur pour le journal Osaka Asahi Shimbun. Son œuvre majeure est la série "Trente-six vues d'Osaka", achevée et publiée en 1947. Rinsaku Akamatsu a également contribué à la série "Images des lieux célèbres d'Osaka et de Kobe".
