Alexander Francis Lydon
Aquarelliste et graveur d'histoire naturelle
Alexander Francis Lydon était un artiste aquarelliste, illustrateur et graveur britannique d'origine irlandaise, spécialisé dans l'histoire naturelle et les paysages. Il a travaillé pour l'imprimeur Benjamin Fawcett, auprès duquel il avait été apprenti dès son plus jeune âge. Il a collaboré à un grand nombre d'ouvrages avec le Révérend Francis Orpen Morris, qui rédigeait les textes. Le petit-fils d'Alexander, Gerald Kenneth Lydon (1902–1988), connu professionnellement sous le nom de GK Lydon, était également un artiste accompli spécialisé dans les aquarelles. Il a été élu Fellow de la Royal Society of Arts en 1953.
