Andrea Mantegna
Perspective sculpturale et figures monumentales
Andrea Mantegna était un peintre italien, un étudiant en archéologie romaine et le gendre de Jacopo Bellini. Comme d’autres artistes de son époque, Mantegna a expérimenté la perspective, par exemple en abaissant la ligne d’horizon afin de créer un sentiment de plus grande monumentalité. Ses paysages aux textures de silex et métalliques, ainsi que ses personnages quelque peu pierreux, témoignent d’une approche de la peinture fondamentalement sculpturale. Il a également dirigé un atelier qui était le principal producteur d’estampes à Venise avant 1500。
