Antonio del Castillo y Saavedra
Peintre baroque espagnol, sculpteur, poète
Antonio del Castillo y Saavedra était un peintre, sculpteur et poète espagnol de l'époque baroque. Antonio del Castillo y Saavedra est né à Cordoue, en Espagne. Il s'est formé à la peinture auprès de son père Agustín del Castillo, puis, après la mort de ce dernier, auprès d'un peintre religieux peu connu nommé Ignacio Aedo Calderón, de 1631 à 1634. Plus tard, il a été enseigné à Séville par Francisco de Zurbarán et par son oncle Juan del Castillo, qui fut également le maître de Cano, Murillo et De Moya. En 1635, il est retourné à Cordoue, où il a peint des fresques et des tableaux à l'huile (comme ceux de l'église Santa Marina). Il est mort à Cordoue en 1668.
