찰스 미엘라츠는 건축 주제의 에칭 작품으로 유명해졌다. 그가 도시 건물의 패턴과 구조에 관심을 가졌다는 점은 1904년에 제작된 체리 스트리트의 금속 다리에서 분명히 드러난다. 7년 후, 미엘라츠가 볼링 그린에서 20세기 초 아이스크림 판매상을 묘사할 때도 멀리 있는 건물 줄에 동일한 주의를 기울였다. 미엘라츠는 독일에서 태어났지만, 경력의 대부분을 미국에서 보냈다. 1880년대 그는 로드아일랜드주 뉴포트에서 활동했다. 그의 작품은 뉴욕 공공 도서관과 패리시 미술관의 컬렉션에 소장되어 있다.
