Conrad Martin Metz
Grabó a los maestros y Miguel Ángel
El grabador, dibujante y pintor Conrad Martin Metz nació en Bonn entre 1745 y 1749. Estudió en Londres en las escuelas de la Royal Academy y con el grabador (y académico fundador) Francesco Bartolozzi. Metz grabó muchos temas religiosos basados en los antiguos maestros en publicaciones como Imitations of Drawings by Parmegiano. En 1801 se trasladó a Roma, donde emprendió su proyecto más ambicioso: un gran grabado, compuesto por quince planchas, del Juicio Final de Miguel Ángel en la Capilla Sixtina.
