康拉德·马丁·梅茨
雕刻大师与米开朗基罗
版画家、绘图员和画家康拉德·马丁·梅茨于1745年至1749年间出生于波恩。他在伦敦的皇家艺术学院学校学习，并师从版画家（同时也是创始院士）弗朗切斯科·巴托洛齐。梅茨在《帕尔米贾尼诺素描摹本》等出版物中，根据古代大师的作品雕刻了许多宗教题材。1801年，他前往罗马，在那里承担了他最雄心勃勃的项目——将西斯廷教堂中米开朗基罗的《最后的审判》刻制成一幅由十五块版组成的大型版画。
