康拉德·馬丁·梅茨
雕刻大師與米開朗基羅
版畫家、繪圖員和畫家康拉德·馬丁·梅茨於1745年至1749年間出生於波恩。他在倫敦的皇家藝術學院學校學習，並師從版畫家（同時也是創始院士）弗朗切斯科·巴托洛齊。梅茨在《帕爾米賈尼諾素描摹本》等出版物中，根據古代大師的作品雕刻了許多宗教題材。1801年，他前往羅馬，在那裡承擔了他最雄心勃勃的項目——將西斯廷教堂中米開朗基羅的《最後的審判》刻製成一幅由十五塊版組成的大型版畫。
