美国历史风俗画家
爱德华·拉姆森·亨利，通常被称为E.L.亨利，是一位美国风俗画家，出生于南卡罗来纳州查尔斯顿。 虽然出生在查尔斯顿，但七岁时父母双亡，亨利搬到纽约市与表亲同住。他开始在那里和费城的宾夕法尼亚美术学院学习绘画。1860年，他前往巴黎，在那里与克劳德·莫奈、皮埃尔-奥古斯特·雷诺阿、弗雷德里克·巴齐耶和阿尔弗雷德·西斯莱大约同一时间，师从查尔斯·格莱尔和古斯塔夫·库尔贝。 1862年，他回到美国，在美国内战期间担任一艘联邦运输船上的文员。战后他重新开始绘画，许多作品都受到他在战争中的经历启发。他搬进了格林威治村著名的第十街工作室大楼，温斯洛·霍默也在那里有一个工作室。1869年，亨利当选为纽约国家设计学院会员。 他于1919年5月9日在纽约州埃伦维尔的家中去世。
