Emile Cagniart was a French academic landscape and Paris Boulevard painter. He is most well known for his Vue du Palais de Justice, which was acquired by the French government, and his views of the Meuse Valley in Belgium. 그는 리옹의 에콜 데 보자르에서 피에르-데지레 길메(1827-1908)에게 사사했다. 카냐르는 1877년 파리 살롱에서의 첫 전시회에서 좋은 평가를 받았다. 이후 그는 살롱 위원회 위원으로 임명되어 영예를 얻었다.
