Ernst Stückelberg
Pintor romántico suizo histórico
Ernst Stückelberg fue un pintor suizo originario de Basilea, nacido en una familia cuyos vínculos con la ciudad se remontaban al siglo XIV. Murió debido a complicaciones de la diabetes. Fue uno de los artistas más populares de su generación dentro de la tradición romántica, produciendo numerosas pinturas sobre diversos temas (retratos, escenas campestres y de aldeas, y alusiones históricas), incluida una serie sobre el héroe nacional suizo Guillermo Tell. Adoptó formalmente el nombre Stückelberg en 1881; esto fue debidamente registrado por las autoridades de Basilea.
