Francesco Fontebasso
Venezianischer Rokoko-Maler, beeinflusst von Tiepolo
Francesco Fontebasso war ein italienischer Maler des Spätbarock oder Rokoko in Venedig. Er lernte zunächst bei Sebastiano Ricci, wurde aber stark von seinem Zeitgenossen Giovanni Battista Tiepolo beeinflusst. 1761 besuchte Fontebasso Sankt Petersburg und schuf Deckengemälde und Dekorationen für den Winterpalast. Fontebasso kehrte 1768 nach Venedig zurück. Er half bei der Ausschmückung einer Kapelle in San Francesco della Vigna. Er starb 1769 in Venedig. Er ist in Sammlungen vertreten, beispielsweise im Kadriorg-Palast (Teil des Estnischen Kunstmuseums) in Tallinn, Estland.
