Francesco Fontebasso
Venetiaanse rococoschilder beïnvloed door Tiepolo
Francesco Fontebasso was een Italiaanse schilder uit de late barok of rococo-periode in Venetië. Hij leerde eerst bij Sebastiano Ricci, maar werd sterk beïnvloed door zijn tijdgenoot Giovanni Battista Tiepolo. In 1761 bezocht Fontebasso Sint-Petersburg en produceerde plafondschilderingen en decoraties voor het Winterpaleis. Fontebasso keerde in 1768 terug naar Venetië. Hij hielp bij het decoreren van een kapel in San Francesco della Vigna. Hij stierf in 1769 in Venetië. Hij is vertegenwoordigd in collecties, bijvoorbeeld in het Kadriorgpaleis (onderdeel van het Kunstmuseum van Estland) in Tallinn, Estland.
