乔治·洛林·布朗

乔治·洛林·布朗是一位美国风景画家。他出生于波士顿，最初师从阿隆佐·哈特韦尔学习木刻，并担任插画师。他曾跟随华盛顿·奥尔斯顿学习绘画，但很快便前往欧洲，并在意大利居住了数年。布朗一生中大半时间都在国外度过，其画作的主题通常是意大利的，无论是在表现手法还是情感上，都没有任何明显的美国特色。他最优秀的作品包括《热那亚的日落》（1875年）、《总督宫与大运河》、《那不勒斯湾》、《月光下的尼亚加拉瀑布》。《纽约湾》（1869年）是在威尔士亲王访问美国时由爱德华七世国王购得的。
