Hendrik Bary

Hendrik Bary war ein bedeutender niederländischer Graveur. Bary wurde in Gouda geboren und starb dort. Sein Stil lässt vermuten, dass er entweder ein Schüler von Cornelis Visscher war oder sich nach dessen Vorbild selbst formierte. Wir haben von ihm mehrere Platten mit Porträts und verschiedenen Themen, die sehr sauber mit dem Grabstichel ausgeführt sind und großen Wert besitzen, obwohl sie keineswegs mit den Werken von Visscher gleichzusetzen sind. Er markierte seine Platten gewöhnlich mit seinem Namen, H. Bary, und manchmal mit H. B.
