Hendrik Bary
Strakke Nederlandse portretgravures
Hendrik Bary was een eminent Nederlandse graveur. Bary werd geboren en stierf in Gouda. Uit zijn stijl blijkt dat hij ofwel een leerling van Cornelis Visscher was, of zich naar zijn voorbeeld heeft gevormd. We hebben van hem verschillende platen met portretten en diverse onderwerpen, die zeer netjes met de burin zijn uitgevoerd en grote waarde hebben, hoewel ze beslist niet gelijk zijn aan de werken van Visscher. Hij markeerde zijn platen meestal met zijn naam, H. Bary, en soms met H. B.
