Hendrik Jacobus Scholten
Pintor holandês e curador
Hendrik Jacobus Scholten foi um pintor neerlandês do século XIX. De acordo com o RKD, ele foi aluno de Petrus Franciscus Greive e Lambertus Johannes Hansen. Em 1852, tornou-se membro da Real Academia de Arte de Amsterdã e foi membro das sociedades artísticas de Amsterdã Arti et Amicitiae, Kunstbevorderend Genootschap V.W. e Vereeniging Sint Lucas. Ele também foi membro de sociedades artísticas em outras cidades, como o estúdio Pulchri em Haia, a Schilder- en teekengenootschap Kunstliefde em Utrecht e a Kunst zij ons doel em Haarlem. Em 1872, tornou-se curador de arte da Teylers Stichting, que gerencia a coleção de arte do Teylers Museum. Nessa qualidade, ele escreveu um catálogo da coleção do museu, que foi publicado em 1904. Ele pintou vários quadros que pendem nas galerias do museu, bem como decorações no Teyler's fundatiehuis, onde viveu e trabalhou de 1863 até sua morte.
