赫尔曼·萨夫特莱文
荷兰巴洛克河景与植物画
小赫尔曼·萨夫特莱文是巴洛克时期的荷兰画家。萨夫特莱文出生于鹿特丹，一生大部分时间（1632–1685）居住在乌得勒支。他的兄弟科内利斯·萨夫特莱文（1607–1681）和亚伯拉罕·萨夫特莱文都是画家。前者作为画家更为知名，专攻风俗画，而赫尔曼则以描绘河流场景以及人物穿越森林的风景画而闻名。他的父亲老赫尔曼·萨夫特莱文是鹿特丹的一位画家，于1627年之前去世。赫尔曼二世的一个女儿萨拉·萨夫特莱文，1633年后出生于乌得勒支，也成为了一位水彩花卉画家。她于1671年与雅各布·阿德里安斯兹·布鲁尔斯结婚。 赫尔曼成为乌得勒支圣路加公会的院长。在17世纪70年代的一场风暴摧毁了该镇大部分地区后，他将自己在教堂被毁前绘制的乌得勒支教堂系列素描卖给了市政府。17世纪80年代，他受业余植物学家和园艺学家阿格尼丝·布洛克委托，在她位于乌得勒支附近的乡村庄园绘制花卉和植物。他在乌得勒支去世。
