Pintor francês, aluno de Jean-Victor Bertin e Jean-Baptiste Regnault. Jean-Charles-Joseph Rémond foi premiado com o prestigioso Grand Prix de Paysage Historique em 1821. O jovem artista passou os cinco anos seguintes na Itália pintando esboços ao ar livre. Rémond deixou de expor em 1848.
