路易十五宫廷女性的神话肖像
让-马克·纳蒂埃，法国画家，出生于巴黎，是肖像画家马克·纳蒂埃（1642–1705）和微型画家玛丽·库尔图瓦（1655–1703）的次子。他以描绘身着古典神话服饰的路易十五宫廷女士的肖像画而闻名。 他最初从父亲以及身为历史画家的舅舅让·茹弗内（1644–1717）那里接受启蒙教育。1703年，他进入皇家学院学习，并致力于临摹卢森堡宫中的画作，绘制了彼得·保罗·鲁本斯创作的玛丽·德·美第奇系列绘画的一组素描。 1720年因劳的金融计划引发的金融危机几乎毁了纳蒂埃，迫使他不得不将全部精力投入到利润更丰厚的肖像画创作中。他成为路易十五宫廷中那些矫揉造作的贵妇们的御用画家。随后，他复兴了寓意肖像画这一体裁，即在画中将真人描绘成希腊罗马女神或其他神话人物。
