Johann Baptist Drechsler fue un pintor austriaco de flores Drechsler nació en Viena en 1766, hijo de un pintor de porcelana. En 1787 se convirtió en el primer profesor de pintura floral en la Academia de Bellas Artes de Viena, donde entre sus estudiantes se encontraban Josef Nigg y Franz Xaver Petter. Su estilo estuvo particularmente influenciado por la obra finamente detallada del pintor floral holandés Jan van Huysum. Se registra que trabajó en la Manufactura de Porcelana de Viena entre 1772 y 1782. Hay ejemplos de su obra en el Hermitage de San Petersburgo y en el Kunsthistorisches Museum. Murió en Viena en 1811.
