Johann Baptist Drechsler era un pittore austriaco di fiori Drechsler nacque a Vienna nel 1766, figlio di un pittore su porcellana. Nel 1787 divenne il primo professore di pittura floreale all'Accademia di Belle Arti di Vienna, dove tra i suoi studenti vi erano Josef Nigg e Franz Xaver Petter. Il suo stile fu particolarmente influenzato dall'opera finemente dettagliata del pittore floreale olandese Jan van Huysum. È documentato che lavorò alla Manifattura di Porcellana di Vienna tra il 1772 e il 1782. Ci sono esempi del suo lavoro nell'Ermitage di San Pietroburgo e nel Kunsthistorisches Museum. Morì a Vienna nel 1811.
