Johann Christian Brand

Johann Christian Brand fue un pintor austriaco (hijo del pintor alemán Christian Hilfgott Brand (1694–1756), que enseñaba en Viena junto con Karl Aigen) y hermano de Friedrich August Brand. Johann Christian Brand influyó en el fin de la era barroca de la pintura de paisajes. Murió en Viena. Johann Christian Brand nació en Viena el 6 de marzo de 1722. Influyente en el fin de la era barroca, Johann estudió en la Academia de Viena desde 1736. Fue galardonado con los títulos de pintor de cámara en 1766 y «profesor de dibujo de paisajes» en 1772. Las pinturas de paisaje de Johann Christian Brand marcaron la transición del estilo barroco al estilo de representación paisajística del siglo XIX. Johann Christian Brand murió en Viena el 12 de junio de 1795.
