Johann Christian Klengel
Maestro di incisioni paesaggistiche
Johann Christian Klengel è stato un incisore e pittore tedesco. Klengel frequentò la scuola di disegno di Dresda. Il suo insegnante era Christian Wilhelm Ernst Dietrich. Nel 1790 si recò in Italia e nel 1802 divenne professore all'Accademia d'Arte di Dresda. Uno dei suoi allievi fu Karl Gottfried Traugott Faber. Dipingeva paesaggi e composizioni idilliache, perlopiù alla luce del mattino o della sera. Nel 1812 pubblicò una raccolta di dodici fogli in formato folio destinati agli artisti paesaggisti, con il titolo «Principes de dessins pour les paysages», e nel 1824 un numero simile di fogli originali, oggi noti come «Études de paysages».
