Johann Georg Trautmann
Maestro de noches iluminadas
Johann Georg Trautmann fue un pintor y grabador alemán. Nació en Zweibrücken en 1713 y murió en Fráncfort del Meno en 1769. Fue alumno de Ferdinand Bellon en Zweibrücken y, en Fráncfort, estudió con Hugo Schlegel (1679-1737) y Gabriel Kiesewetter (1711-1753). En 1761, fue nombrado pintor de la corte del Elector Palatino. Según Bénézit, Trautmann era conocido especialmente por sus pinturas de escenas nocturnas iluminadas por fuegos. Entre sus obras incluidas en el Bénézit figuran imágenes de músicos: un gaitero, un laudista, una familia de cantantes y una familia de músicos. También hay escenas de género de una posada, soldados jugando a las cartas o una familia campesina sentada a la mesa. Trautmann también pintó retratos. Aunque se dice que fue grabador al aguafuerte, solo se mencionan seis aguafuertes de Trautmann.
