Johann Georg Trautmann

Johann Georg Trautmann foi um pintor e gravador alemão. Nasceu em Zweibrücken em 1713 e faleceu em Frankfurt am Main em 1769. Foi aluno de Ferdinand Bellon em Zweibrücken e, em Frankfurt, estudou com Hugo Schlegel (1679-1737) e Gabriel Kiesewetter (1711-1753). Em 1761, foi nomeado pintor da corte do Eleitor Palatino. Segundo Bénézit, Trautmann era conhecido especialmente pelas suas pinturas de cenas noturnas iluminadas por fogueiras. Entre as suas obras listadas no Bénézit encontram-se imagens de músicos: um gaiteiro, um alaudista, uma família de cantores e uma família de músicos. Há também cenas de género de uma estalagem, soldados a jogar cartas ou uma família camponesa à mesa. Trautmann também pintou retratos. Embora se diga que foi gravador em água-forte, apenas seis águas-fortes de Trautmann são mencionadas.
