Johann Michael Rottmayr
Llevó el barroco italiano al norte
Johann Michael Rottmayr fue un pintor austriaco. Rottmayr nació en Laufen an der Salzach, Baviera. Junto con su contemporáneo nacido en Laufen, Hans Adam Weissenkircher, recibió su educación de Johann Carl Loth en Venecia. Así como Weissenkircher había llevado el Renacimiento italiano a los Alpes del Sur y a la corte de los príncipes de Eggenberg en Graz, Rottmayr lo llevó al norte de los Alpes. A partir de 1689, trabajó en Salzburgo y fue empleado como pintor general del príncipe-obispo de Salzburgo.
