Johann Michael Rottmayr

Johann Michael Rottmayr était un peintre autrichien. Rottmayr est né à Laufen an der Salzach, en Bavière. Tout comme son contemporain né à Laufen, Hans Adam Weissenkircher, il a reçu son éducation de Johann Carl Loth à Venise. Tout comme Weissenkircher avait apporté la Renaissance italienne dans les Alpes du Sud et à la cour des princes d'Eggenberg à Graz, Rottmayr l'a apportée au nord des Alpes. À partir de 1689, il a travaillé à Salzbourg et a été employé comme peintre général du prince-évêque de Salzbourg.
