Johann Michael Rottmayr

Johann Michael Rottmayr foi um pintor austríaco. Rottmayr nasceu em Laufen an der Salzach, Baviera. Junto com seu contemporâneo nascido em Laufen, Hans Adam Weissenkircher, ele recebeu sua educação de Johann Carl Loth em Veneza. Assim como Weissenkircher trouxera o Renascimento italiano para os Alpes do Sul e para a corte dos príncipes de Eggenberg em Graz, Rottmayr trouxe-o para o norte dos Alpes. A partir de 1689, ele trabalhou em Salzburgo e foi empregado como pintor geral do príncipe-bispo de Salzburgo.
