Johannes Jelgerhuis
Interni prospettici e teoria teatrale
Johannes Jelgerhuis fu un pittore e attore dei Paesi Bassi settentrionali nel XIX secolo. Secondo il RKD, fu allievo di suo padre Rienk Jelgerhuis e di Pieter Pietersz Barbiers. Dal 1808 divenne attore allo Stadsschouwburg di Amsterdam e scrisse un manuale illustrato di istruzioni per attori. Nel 1820 iniziò a tenere lezioni di recitazione ad Amsterdam e invitò la sua ex collega Johanna Wattier ad aiutarlo. Era anche noto per gli interni e gli studi architettonici, con un buon occhio per la prospettiva. Il suo dipinto dell'interno della libreria del suo editore fa parte della collezione del Rijksmuseum. Ha realizzato opere topografiche a Delft, Rotterdam, Gand e Amsterdam.
