约翰·伍德
英国历史与肖像画家
约翰·伍德是一位英国历史和肖像画家。他是风景画家兼绘画教师约翰·乔治·伍德的儿子，出生于伦敦。 他在萨斯学校以及皇家艺术学院学习，并于1825年在皇家艺术学院获得绘画金奖。 1834年，他成功竞得伯蒙德西圣詹姆斯教堂祭坛画的委托；1836年，他凭借作品《塔中的伊丽莎白》在曼彻斯特获奖。 在他职业生涯的后期，他主要绘制宗教题材作品和肖像画，并在1862年之前大量于皇家艺术学院和不列颠学会展出。他为罗伯特·皮尔爵士、格雷伯爵、约翰·布里顿（藏于国家肖像馆）等人创作的肖像画以及他的多幅幻想题材作品已被制成版画。
