诺里奇画派海景画家
约瑟夫·斯坦纳德是一位英国海洋、风景和肖像画家。他是诺里奇画派中才华横溢且备受瞩目的成员。 在诺里奇文法学校就读后，他的父母出资让他跟随罗伯特·拉德布鲁克学习艺术，后者是诺里奇艺术家学会的创始成员之一。在他的职业生涯中，他在诺里奇和伦敦两地举办展览，并取得了一定的成功。1816年，他加入了诺里奇的一个竞争性协会，该协会存续了数年。他受到荷兰大师作品的影响，在1821年访问荷兰后，他研究并临摹了这些作品。他自己最重要的画作《索普水嬉，下午》于1825年在诺里奇首次展出。 1826年，他与艺术家艾米丽·科平结婚。他的家族中还有其他几位成员，包括他们的女儿艾米丽，都是才华横溢的艺术家。他一生中大部分时间健康状况不佳，于1830年因肺结核去世，年仅33岁。
