Margaret Evans era un'illustratrice di libri per bambini e artista. Era anche una produttrice statunitense di giocattoli. Nel 1930, ha co-fondato Fisher-Price Toys insieme al marito Irving Price e a Herman Fisher. Divenne la prima direttrice artistica di Fisher-Price e progettò giocattoli da spingere e tirare per la linea di lancio, ispirandosi ai personaggi dei suoi libri per bambini. Margaret era membro della ricca famiglia Evans di New York, che per un periodo detenne un monopolio effettivo sull'industria dei materiali da costruzione nella città. Il fratello di Margaret, Heathcliff, ampliò le attività commerciali di suo padre includendo un'attività di legatoria che, al suo apice, comprendeva un complesso di edifici sulla East 12th Street a Manhattan. Il cugino di Margaret era il politico repubblicano e Presidente della Corte Suprema degli Stati Uniti Charles Evans Hughes. Margaret Evans iniziò la sua carriera artistica in tenera età e vendette la sua prima storia illustrata al Boston Journal nel 1900. Frequentò il liceo a Charlestown, Boston, e proseguì gli studi alla Massachusetts Normal Art School. In seguito, continuò a studiare alla Boston Academy of Fine Arts sotto la guida di Joseph DeCamp e Vesper George. Prima di sposare Irving Price, Evans lavorò come artista freelance a New York, pubblicando con Rand McNally, Harper & Brothers e Stecher Lithography [Rochester, NY]. Dopo la fondazione di Fisher-Price, Margaret espose le sue opere in molte gallerie a livello nazionale. I suoi lavori furono pubblicati anche su Nature Magazine, Women's Home Companion e Pictorial Review.
