マリア・クラス＝カザノフスカ
写実的な風俗・風景画家
マリア・クラス＝カザノフスカは貧しい貴族の家に生まれた。1878年、ヴォイチェフ・ゲルソンが運営する女子絵画学校で学び始めた。教授の助言により、1881年にさらなる修業のためサンクトペテルブルクへ渡り、当地の美術アカデミーで学んだ。1884年、B・ヴィレヴァルトの教室で基礎課程を修了し、銀メダルを受賞した。彼女は画家の夫ヴワディスワフ・カザノフスキとともにヴォルィーニ地方で数年を過ごし、その後二人ともサンクトペテルブルクに戻った。彼女の作品は写実的な手法で、ヴォルィーニ地方（カミェニェツ・ポドルスキを含む）の風俗画、風景画、建築景観、動物画、および花の構成を描いた。
