Pietro Antonio Novelli
Pittore veneziano di pale e affreschi
Pietro Antonio Novelli fu un pittore e incisore italiano. Novelli si formò con il pittore veneziano Jacopo Amigoni. Nel 1768, fu accolto come membro dell'Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia. Novelli realizzò pale d'altare e affreschi in tutto il nord Italia. Alcune delle sue commissioni provenivano da Caterina la Grande. Si trasferì a Roma intorno al 1779, dove rimase per oltre 20 anni. In seguito tornò a Venezia, dove morì nel 1804. Le sue memorie furono pubblicate postume nel 1834.
