萨洛蒙·科宁克是一位荷兰风俗画和肖像画家，也是一位版画家。 科宁克出生于阿姆斯特丹，是一位原籍安特卫普的金匠之子，也是菲利普斯·德·科宁克的侄子。萨洛蒙曾师从彼得·拉斯特曼、大卫·科林斯、弗朗索瓦·韦南茨和克拉斯·科尔内松·莫耶尔特。自1630年起，他成为圣卢卡斯行会的成员。他活跃于伦勃朗的圈子以及亨德里克·范·伊伦堡的学院中，并临摹了许多伦勃朗的作品构图。他的画作色调温暖，常描绘"哲学家"或学者形象。其中较为著名的一幅是收藏于卢浮宫的《持打开书籍的哲学家》，该画长期被归为伦勃朗所作，并作为伦勃朗《沉思中的哲学家》的配对作品。 他娶了阿德里安·范·尼乌兰特的女儿，后来又娶了安东尼·范·斯特拉伦的妹妹。他于1656年在阿姆斯特丹去世。
