Thomas Wilmer Dewing
Peint femmes aristocrates avec élégance
Thomas Wilmer Dewing était un peintre américain actif au tournant du XXe siècle. Formé à Paris, Dewing était reconnu pour ses peintures de figures représentant des femmes aristocratiques. Il était membre fondateur des Ten American Painters et a enseigné à l'Art Students League de New York. La Freer Gallery of Art de la Smithsonian Institution possède une collection de ses œuvres. Il était l'époux de l'artiste Maria Oakey Dewing.
