Utagawa Kuniyoshi
Maestro de grabados de samuráis
Utagawa Kuniyoshi fue uno de los últimos grandes maestros del estilo japonés ukiyo-e de grabados en madera y pintura. Fue miembro de la escuela Utagawa. Los temas de Kuniyoshi abarcaban muchos géneros: paisajes, mujeres hermosas, actores de kabuki, gatos y animales míticos. Es conocido por sus representaciones de las batallas de los legendarios héroes samurái. Su obra incorporaba aspectos de la representación occidental en la pintura de paisajes y la caricatura.
