William Henry Brooke

William Henry Brooke était un artiste et illustrateur britannique. Il était le fils du peintre Henry Brooke et le neveu de Henry Brooke, l'auteur de A Fool of Quality. Il fut l'élève de Samuel Drummond et travailla comme peintre portraitiste. Il a exposé des portraits et des sujets figuratifs à la Royal Academy occasionnellement entre 1810 et 1826, mais il est surtout connu pour ses illustrations de livres. Il est mort à Chichester en 1860. En tant qu'illustrateur, Brooke fut influencé par Thomas Stothard, un ami. Il contribua aux Irish Melodies de Thomas Moore, à l'édition par John Major du Compleat Angler d'Izaak Walton, à la Mythology de Thomas Keightley, ainsi qu'à d'autres ouvrages.
