William Henry Brooke
Retratista e ilustrador britânico
William Henry Brooke foi um artista e ilustrador britânico. Era filho do pintor Henry Brooke e sobrinho de Henry Brooke, autor de A Fool of Quality. Foi aluno de Samuel Drummond e trabalhou como pintor de retratos. Entre 1810 e 1826, ele exibiu ocasionalmente retratos e temas figurativos na Royal Academy, mas é mais conhecido por suas ilustrações para livros. Ele morreu em Chichester em 1860. Como ilustrador, Brooke foi influenciado por seu amigo Thomas Stothard. Ele contribuiu para as Irish Melodies de Thomas Moore, para a edição de John Major de The Compleat Angler de Izaak Walton, para a Mythology de Thomas Keightley e para outras obras.
