Abraham van Strij
Peintre néerlandais du XVIIIe siècle
Abraham van Strij était un peintre du XVIIIe siècle originaire des Pays-Bas du Nord. Van Strij est né et mort à Dordrecht. Selon le RKD, il était le fils de Leendert et le frère de Jacob. Lui et son frère furent tous deux élèves de leur père, et après avoir suivi les leçons de Joris Ponse, Abraham rejoignit l'atelier de son père. Il était membre de la guilde de Saint-Luc de Dordrecht et en devint plus tard le directeur. Son fils Abraham II devint également peintre ; outre son fils, lui et son frère prirent des élèves après avoir repris l'atelier de leur père. Leurs élèves furent Pieter Rudolph Kleijn, Johannes van Lexmond, Jacob de Meijer, Johannes Rutten, Johannes Schoenmakers, Johannes Christiaan Schotel et Gillis Smak Gregoor.
