Albert Levering

Albert Levering nació en Hope, Indiana, hijo de Levi L. Levering, un carpintero. La familia se trasladó más tarde a Kansas City, Missouri. Levering estudió arquitectura y ejerció esa profesión durante ocho años en San Antonio, Texas. Posteriormente abandonó la arquitectura para convertirse en artista de periódicos. Levering trabajó para periódicos en Kansas City, Missouri, así como para el Minneapolis Times y el Chicago Tribune. En 1896 se mudó a Nueva York y trabajó para el New York Journal, el Tribune y el Herald-Tribune. Posteriormente trabajó como ilustrador de libros y revistas para Puck, Life, Collier's y Cosmopolitan. Para 1903 ya tenía una sección fija a página completa en Harper's Weekly. En 1909, Levering dibujó la portada y el frontispicio del libro corto de Mark Twain Extract from Captain Stormfield's Visit to Heaven.
