Realist painter of Tatra landscapes

Aleksander Mroczkowski was a Polish painter. In the years 1865-1873 he studied at the School of Fine Arts in Krakow in the studio of Władysław Łuszczkiewicz, Feliks Szynalewski and Leon Dembowski, and then in the years 1873-1877 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich in the studio of Alexander Wagner and Otto Seitz (at the end of November 1873 he entered the Academy - class: Malschule) . After returning to Krakow, Mroczkowski was still educated at the School of Fine Arts, where he learned from the master of the brush - Jan Matejko . The painter's education ended only in 1881. Back to Munich, where he stayed until 1888. He created in a realistic style, he often took up the subject of Tatra landscapes and rural landscapes, such as Pejzaż z zagrodą (1878, Muzeum Sztuki in Łódź ) or W harvest (1882, National Museum in Warsaw). He also painted portraits, genre scenes, historical and sacred compositions, he was also engaged in decorative painting.
