阿爾弗雷德·愛德華·查隆
皇家水彩肖像畫家
阿爾弗雷德·愛德華·查隆（Alfred Edward Chalon）是英國皇家藝術學院的瑞士肖像畫家。他居住在倫敦，並受到維多利亞女王的關注。 阿爾弗雷德·沙隆出生於日內瓦，其父親不久後被聘為英國桑赫斯特皇家軍事學院的教授。 阿爾弗雷德與他的兄弟約翰·詹姆斯·查隆（1778–1854）一同成為藝術家。他於1797年進入皇家藝術學院，並加入了水彩畫家團體「水彩畫家協會」。在學院中，他於1812年當選為副院士（ARA），隨後於1816年成為正式院士（RA）。 他以描繪倫敦上流社會的肖像畫而聞名，被維多利亞女王選中，為其母親繪製一幅禮物：1837年7月17日，維多利亞身著禮服前往上議院，履行其首個官方職責——議會休會。完成此項任務後，夏隆獲封「陛下水彩肖像畫家」，並贏得一定聲譽。他於1837年創作的肖像由塞繆爾·卡曾斯雕刻成版畫，並於1838年6月28日維多利亞加冕日向公眾發行。隨後，自1851年起，「夏隆頭像」出現在一些英國殖民地的郵票上。 身為單身漢，沙隆兄弟同住一處。1860年，阿爾弗雷德於倫敦肯辛頓的坎普登山逝世。
