Anton von Maron
Retratista neoclásico en Roma
Anton von Maron fue un pintor austriaco, activo en Roma. Von Maron nació en Viena, pero se mudó a Roma a temprana edad. Allí estudió con Anton Raphael Mengs y se convirtió en un consumado retratista. Se casó con la hermana de Mengs, Therese Maron, quien era pintora por derecho propio. Vivió el resto de su vida en Roma y murió allí en 1808.
