Anton von Maron
Portraitiste néoclassique à Rome
Anton von Maron était un peintre autrichien, actif à Rome. Von Maron est né à Vienne, mais a déménagé à Rome dès son jeune âge. Là-bas, il a étudié sous la direction d'Anton Raphael Mengs et est devenu un portraitiste accompli. Il a épousé la sœur de Mengs, Therese Maron, qui était elle-même peintre. Il a vécu le reste de sa vie à Rome et y est mort en 1808.
