Anton von Maron

Anton von Maron fu un pittore austriaco, attivo a Roma. Von Maron nacque a Vienna, ma si trasferì a Roma in giovane età. Lì studiò sotto Anton Raphael Mengs e divenne un ritrattista di grande abilità. Sposò la sorella di Mengs, Therese Maron, che era a sua volta una pittrice. Visse il resto della sua vita a Roma e vi morì nel 1808.
