Antonio Joli

Antonio Francesco Lodovico Joli foi um pintor italiano de vedute e capricci. Nascido em Módena, foi inicialmente aprendiz de Rafaello Rinaldi. Estudou depois em Roma sob a orientação de Giovanni Paolo Panini e nos ateliês da família Galli da Bibbiena, pintores de cenários. Tornou-se pintor de cenários teatrais em Módena e Perúgia. Em 1732, mudou-se para Veneza, onde trabalhou como pintor de cenários para produções de ópera no Teatro di San Giovanni Grisostomo e no Teatro San Samuele da família Grimani. Em 1742, foi para Dresden, e depois para Londres (1744–48) e Madri (1750–54). Em Londres, decorou a mansão de Richmond de John James Heidegger, então diretor do King's Theatre em Haymarket. Joli retornou a Veneza em 1754, onde se tornou um dos 36 membros fundadores da Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia. Mudou-se para a corte bourbônica de Nápoles em 1761 e faleceu lá em 29 de abril de 1777.
