Bartolomeo Passarotti
Maneirismo bolonhês influenciou o barroco
Bartolomeo Passarotti ou Passerotti (1529–1592) foi um pintor italiano do período maneirista, que trabalhou principalmente em sua cidade natal de Bolonha. Seu sobrenome também é grafado como Passerotti ou Passarotto. De aproximadamente 1550 a 1555, viveu em Roma, onde trabalhou sob a direção de Giacomo Barozzi da Vignola e Taddeo Zuccari. Ao retornar a Bolonha, estabeleceu um grande ateliê e, de 1564 a 1565, dedicou-se à pintura de um grande retábulo para a Basílica de San Giacomo Maggiore. Em suas obras posteriores, voltou-se para modelos toscanos, como Giorgio Vasari e Prospero Fontana. Sua última obra conhecida é A Apresentação de Maria no Templo, de 1583, atualmente na Pinacoteca Nacional de Bolonha. Ele influenciou muitos artistas bolonheses que mais tarde desempenhariam um papel na ascensão do Barroco. Annibale Carracci (cujo irmão Agostino estudou com Passerotti) foi influenciado pelas cenas de gênero de Passerotti em um conjunto seleto de pinturas (como O Comedor de Feijão e O Açougue, este último originalmente atribuído a Passerotti). Lucio Massari e Francesco Brizzi estavam entre seus alunos. Três dos filhos de Passerotti, incluindo Ventura (1566–1618), Aurelio (1560–1609) e Tiburzio, foram pintores.
